This is a high-quality Transmission Cover / Case Component, manufactured to replace or complement the assembly referenced by part number 3741-1702010. Designed specifically for the rugged UAZ 4x4 vehicles, this cover is a critical structural element of the manual transmission housing.
The transmission cover serves multiple vital functions: it seals the internal gear mechanisms from contaminants (dust, mud, water), provides mounting points for external components (such as the differential lock actuator, speedometer sensor, or shift linkage), and maintains the precise alignment of the main shaft and countershaft. Over time, original covers can crack due to off-road stress, corrode from salt exposure, or suffer from warped sealing surfaces leading to oil leaks.
Our replacement cover is manufactured using high-grade cast iron or aluminum alloy (depending on specific variant), ensuring superior durability against impact and thermal stress. Each unit undergoes CNC machining to guarantee perfect flatness for leak-proof gasket sealing and precise bore alignment for bearing seats. This component is an essential part of any comprehensive transmission rebuild or repair for UAZ off-road vehicles operating in harsh environments.
Core Advantages
1. CNC-machined to meet strict tolerance standards, ensuring perfect fitment without gaps or misalignment. Prevents oil leaks caused by warped mating surfaces.
2. Manufactured from premium-grade cast material with improved tensile strength compared to standard OEM parts, resisting cracks and fractures during extreme off-road impacts.
3. Treated with anti-rust coating or anodized finish to withstand moisture, road salt, and muddy conditions common in UAZ operations.
Application Scenarios
Intended for installation on UAZ 452, UAZ 3741, and other models with the corresponding new-style gearbox.
Common Failure Symptoms Addressed by This Part:
Persistent oil leaks from the side or bottom of the transmission.
Corroded or stripped bolt threads preventing secure assembly.
Misalignment causing difficulty in shifting gears or premature bearing wear.
Installation Guide
Note: Professional installation by a qualified technician is strongly recommended. Always disconnect the battery and drain transmission fluid before work.
Preparation: Park the vehicle on a level surface. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the manual transmission fluid completely into an appropriate container.
Disassembly: Remove the drive shafts, shift linkages, and electrical connectors attached to the transmission. Unbolt the transmission from the engine bellhousing and support it safely. Lower the transmission from the vehicle.
Removal of Old Cover: Locate the transmission cover being replaced. Remove all retaining bolts in a crisscross pattern to avoid warping. Carefully separate the old cover from the main transmission case. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with a solvent and scraper, removing all old gasket material.
Inspection: Inspect the main transmission case for damage. Check the condition of the bearings and shafts. Ensure the new cover’s sealing surface is clean and free of burrs.
Installation: Place a new gasket or apply a thin layer of approved sealant (if using RTV method) to the new cover. Align the cover with the dowel pins on the transmission case. Insert bolts finger-tight initially, then torque them to specification in a star pattern (typically 15–25 Nm, check specific manual).
Reassembly: Reinstall the transmission onto the vehicle. Reconnect all linkages, sensors, and drive shafts. Refill with the recommended grade and quantity of transmission oil.
Testing: Start the engine and check for leaks around the new cover. Test all gear positions for smooth engagement. Verify that any connected sensors (reverse lights, speedometer) function correctly.

Upgrading to larger off-road tires instantly changes vehicle dynamics. It alters the effective gearing, resulting in sluggish acceleration, poor fuel economy, and excessive transmission wear. Selecting the correct gear ratio restores factory performance and protects drivetrain components. When a veh

Upgrading a truck’s payload or towing capacity often encounters bottlenecks not from engine horsepower, but from the structural limits of the drivetrain. Selecting an incorrect axle configuration leads to premature transmission failure, catastrophic drivetrain binding, or compromised fuel economy. S
High-torque applications place immense stress on factory drivetrains. This is especially true in diesel trucks. The differential becomes a primary point of failure under heavy towing or off-highway conditions. A failing differential does not just stop a truck. Due to the lack of internal filtration,
For many Toyota truck and SUV owners, particularly those driving 2016-2023 Tacoma and Tundra models, a persistent howling or whining noise from the rear end causes widespread frustration. Dealerships frequently dismiss these noises as normal gear resonance, torque echoing, or uneven tire wear. This
Drivetrain noises—specifically howling, whining, or grinding—often trigger immediate anxiety for vehicle owners. No. Not every car has a separate rear differential. Most rear-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive, and four-wheel-drive vehicles do. Most front-wheel-drive cars use a front transaxle that contains the differential function inside the transmission. That distinction matters because many ordering mistakes sta
A front-end grinding, scraping, rumbling, whirring, or howling noise can point to internal front differential damage, but it is often misdiagnosed as a wheel bearing, CV axle, brake issue, transfer case problem, tire noise, or front driveshaft fault.
